About Us

Originally known as Weatherday Heating, Universal Heating Services began life 40 years ago as central heating and boiler maintenance contractors. This remains a core activity today, yet the business has been expanded substantially from this base and services now include plumbing and sanitary ware installations, both domestic and commercial and we have also moved into the retailing of all types of fires and bathroom equipment.

We have a varied display of fires, fireplaces, stoves, bathroom suites and showers in our showroom which is situated prominently on Heaton Park Road, Newcastle upon Tyne - just round the corned from the new Morrison's supermarket on Shields Road, Byker (see contact page for a map).

John Heslop, who now runs the company together with his wife, Penny, says:

"The business was founded in 1965 and it has continued to evolve ever since. For instance, when we took over in 1995, the showroom was just an empty shell, but we have now fitted it out to display a range of quality products for fireplaces and bathrooms. We aim to show products which are 'different' and to provide comprehensive help and advice to the potential customer. Through discussion we gain an understanding their needs and guide them through what can be, after all, difficult and unfamiliar territory."

Since 1965 we have completed installations in thousands of homes and businesses in the North East. We believe that our customers are our best sales people and much of our business comes from customer referral.
